Ideal
Got roped into playing football for the first time ever and att he tender age of 40 thought I could do with some extra padding leaping around in goal. You need to make sure you gett he padding in just the right place but once you do, you'll find the hip bone is well protected. The front thigh padding came in handy when blocking shots and helped prevent nice big bruises. There's also a cocyx pad for when you collapse in a heap. Combined with the Reusch trousers I never had any problems.

Good protection, but somewhat pricey
I was somewhat skeptical about them, but I've been using them for rugby practice and last week in a game. They're actually very good to keep yr hips protected when tackling. The protection on the tailbone is somewhat uncomfortable, but the thigh protection is okay. I am not sure about the "legality" according to the IRB, but for amateur play I think they're good. I didn't feel like a wuss, I gotta go to work on Monday morning after Sat/Sun play and any help is appreciated.
